Extempore is the art of public speaking that is carried out without preparation or forethought. It puts to test one’s ability to think on the spot and also their spontaneity. Oral communication fulfils a number of general and discipline-specific academic functions. Students need to speak well in their personal lives, future workplaces and social interactions. Extempore is one such method which assists the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision. To imbibe a true spirit of learning in Wendyites and to enhance the communication skills in them, an Inter House Hindi Extempore Competition, was held in the school campus. The judges were the Hindi Teachers who did the judgement on the basis of content, relevance to the topic, confidence, clarity of speech, time management, use of language and grammar, presence of mind and body language.

Considering the manifold benefits of trees, including that they release oxygen into the air, absorb unpleasant odours as well as harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide from the air and purify it, protect us from dangerous ultra-violet rays, provide us with food and the pivotal role played by trees in preventing soil erosion, maintaining ecological balance and most especially in lessening the effects of global warming, Wendy team conducts tree plantation drive.
Tree plantation is not just something that should be done; instead, it is a necessity, the urgent need of the hour. Planting of trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming. To this end, our young volunteers have been actively involved in organizing tree plantation campaigns.
Music ignites all areas of child development: intellectual, social and emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Patriotic songs are songs that demonstrate love for one’s country, or have themes that glorify self-sacrifice, land’s beauty, history or ideals.
Music is beneficial for children as it not only develops their aesthetic sense, but is also the key to creativity. It is one of the most beloved human experiences and plays an important role in the education of a child by providing it an opportunity of self- expression. A ‘Patriotic Song Competition’ was organized on 10th August 2019 to expose our children to music, while also enhancing their language and presentation skills.
Wendy School Junior College was filled with children brimming with enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their talent. The students prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs were presented. While the choice of songs ranged from the patriotic to the popular, it was interesting that each child had worked hard to comprehend the lyrics and sing the songs with conviction. Their songs invoked a strong sense of patriotism in each one who listened. The hall was resplendent with a feeling of belonging and pride. We discovered potential talent in singing from amongst our students and are very optimistic that these students will bring glory to the school in the future.
It was a great show and the entire school was involved in cheering, encouraging, lauding and appreciating the singers. The success of the show could be well judged by the smile on the faces of the students and the teachers.

Earth Day Celebration 23.04. 2019 (Grades- 2 to 12)
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
-Albert Einstein
It was yet another memorable day in the history of Wendy School Junior College i.e. 23rd April 2019 when the students of Grades 2 to 12 sensitized the whole school with their catchy paintings of how to save our dear planet the Earth. The zeal and enthusiasm of our Wendyites knew no bounds when showing their prowess and creativity; they participated and celebrated Earth Day with immense gusto. They sensitized other students on the importance of deforestation-how it should be stopped, saving electricity, use of dustbins, importance of flora and fauna . The children were very enthusiastic about the event and participated whole heartedly. This high energy session laid a great impact on the whole school. The whole school was vibrated and mesmerised with their 3-D Paintings.
This programme was organised to give our young students a perspective on what they should do to protect our environment.
Grades 2 -5 showed their concern towards mother Earth by making beautiful paintings. Grade 6-8 made beautiful posters with beautiful slogans and Class 9-12 showed their concern for Mother Earth through their beautiful 3-D paintings.
By celebrating Earth Day today, we hope to give voice to an emerging consciousness, channelling human energy toward environmental issues in bigger ways. The aim of such activities is to make each student realise to be pro active .What are we waiting for? The time is now. Let’s start now. And let’s not stop.
